I happened to stay in Venice during Carnival and I was surprised to find a hotel with reasonable price just in the half way between San Marco and Realto. The room was small (that was totally predictable) but furnishings is optimum and nice. The bathroom was even more spacious then I expected. The cleanness is perfect. The choice for breakfast is more than just coffee and croissant as it is usual in Italian 2-3* hotels. Though it is every day the same. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The hotel is perfect for its category.
Just for the sake of justice I need to mention that there is no lift in the hotel and it can be for somebody a problem. It was not a problem for me escpecially since I was helped with my luggage.

Loved it--great value and especially wonderful staff. Traveling with a friend. Had a twin room and beds very comfortable; pillows a little flat so if need full pillows ask for an extra at the desk. Nice bathroom. Breakfast was excellent except the coffee--bring along those Folgers singles. What really stood out was the staff. Multilingual and really helpful and pleasant. This is a family owned and operated hotel, and Signora Maria is always around.

Wonderful location!
Room was very very very tiny - cruise ship small. Be sure to specify one of the larger rooms when booking and get it in writing.

The rooms were neat and tidy. Since it is a hostel it had good facilities in the rooms like electric kettle and microwave. For a hostel it was very surprising that they had a pool and a sauna room. Great deal! Also the location was great. Walking distance to all the major attractions of the city and 10 mins to the station. The staff at the front desk was very helpful. The person at the travel desk also was very friendly and guided us to all the right places. All in all a great stay!

central location, clean rooms, effective water taxi arrangement
Rooms significantly cramped!!! The shower situation needs revisiting as water spills into the bedroom!!! A thorough upgrade would enhance the overall aesthetic and functionality !!!

Our room was very pleasant appearing, spacious and light, looking over a courtyard facing the sister hotel. The decor in the room had character. The bed was very comfortable. The breakfast was ample, and included some meat, which I didn't expect. Although there was no lift, the staff carried our suitcases to our room. Also, we arrived early and they let us leave our luggage in the lobby until we checked in later as the room wasn't quite ready. It was a tremendous value for the money.
I can't say there were any negatives about this hotel. There probably isn't room for one, but an elevator would be nice. It was a little tricky finding the hotel with the map, but once we found it, we had no trouble getting back. It is actually fairly close to the Rialto vaporetto stop, and very convenient to walk to San Marco squre.

Very good service, I enjoyed fantastic food.
Nicely decorated hotel, the staff were all very friendly efficient and attentive and the location was magnificent near the most popular tourist attractions. Having central heating, a multi-channel TV and a writing desk in my great value room was really great. Got a traditional and savoury breakfast included.

The staff were very friendly, answering all of my questions and providing me with directions to find the hotel without asking in advance of my stay. In Venice this is very important, as it is not possible for a taxi to just drop you off in front of the hotel. The room was exactly what I expected. It was clean, simple, and small, as it was a single room. The breakfast was also exactly what was expected, a simple continental breakfast.
